Job Summary:

Our client is looking for an HR professional to help them continue to grow and develop their people. This position will be responsible for coordinating the company's employee relations, recruitment and retention and performance evaluation for a growing staff of 60.

Main responsibilities include:

40% Retention and Recruiting:
• Attract and retain employees
• Manage and administer the recruitment function of full-time and temporary employees
• Ensure that job openings are approved and documented internally before commencing the search for candidates
• Screen resumes
• Ensure that job vacancies are posted internally & externally
• Review & select employment agencies if required
• Conduct initial interviews
• Coordinate in person interviews with potential candidates, ensuring reference checks are performed
• Prepare and issue offer letters & benefits packages
• Prepare employee contracts
• Responsible for Employee Orientation and the co-ordination between departments

40% Employee Relations / Communications:

• Working with the CEO and CFO, as well as the functional group managers
• Meet with employees and managers to identify and resolve workplace issues
• Prepare and deliver HR-related communication programs
• Co-ordinate annual performance evaluation and compensation review process
• Update and maintain employment policies and procedures

20% Administration:

• Working with the Accounting group and functional group managers, update and maintain payroll (third-party administrator), compensation, benefits, and vacation and employee records.

Applicant's Qualifications:

• College or University Degree
• 5 + years of experience in Human Resources
• Proficient computer skills- Microsoft Word, Excel
• CHRP Designation (or actively working towards it)
• Organization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility
• Detail-oriented
• Proficient computer skills- Microsoft Word, Excel
