Job Summary:

The Program Manager (PRM) is both client-facing and an internal team manager as they help define and capitalize on relationship management opportunities for their accounts. The PRM is a senior project manager able to provide outstanding client. The PRM works with the Account Manager, Strategist and other EIS senior planners, helping to scope and plan client initiatives and then supervises the internal allocation and management of resources to ensure successful roll-out of e-marketing programs that may include multi-channel components. They are the ’hub of the wheel’ acting as part account team manager, project manager, e-marketing specialist and client relations manager.

The role is primarily tactical, as the majority of the PRM’s time is spent coordinating client and internal resources to develop and perfect the technical, content, and creative components of e-marketing programs (which may include multi-channel components) prior to launch, and then proposing and helping to develop innovation and optimization for future programs. The Program Manager plays a central production and strategic role across all channels as the bridge between the client planning team and the project management and production teams, with a primary focus on the ongoing management and operational efficiency of client initiatives.

Main responsibilities include:

• responsible for successfully managing the program/project budget
• develop, discuss (and possibly defend) program/project status and financial reports – discuss and flag risk points of projects, key decisions and recommendations for next steps, etc.
• lead and manage the delivery processes of the project/program by breaking the scope into manageable packages and activities
• both client manager and internal team manager: acts as the bridge between the client team and the development team with primary focus on the successful and ongoing management and operational efficiency of client initiatives;
• manage and supervise the internal allocation of resources to ensure successful roll-out of e-marketing program – delegate effectively but supervise to ensure risk mitigation and target margins are achieved
• lead, coordinate and supervise client and internal resources to develop the technical, content, and creative components of e-marketing programs prior to launch

Applicant's Qualifications:

• Experience in planning, monitoring and managing projects and project teams
• Experience in financial management ( project budgets and driving through change management process)
• Experience in identifying and implementing solutions to complex issues
• Experience working with key project stakeholders
• Strong communication
• Strong client management
• Strong understanding and practice of project management process
• Interactive agency experience preferred
• outstanding client service
• successfully manage multiple concurrent projects with a budget or associated complexity of over $1M.
• consistently deliver projects on time and with a budget variance of +/- 5% while meeting client’s strategic goals and quality expectations
• risk assessment and mitigation are key
• ability to make informed decisions and recommendations to both client and internal team are key
• manage and lead project team
• ability to use tools required to properly facilitate and control their projects and can create tools and/or best practices when gaps exist.
• thorough understanding of senior project management principles and tactics
• able to recognize when it is appropriate to apply certain principles and approaches to their
• work collaboratively and lead a team to identify and resolve internal or external barriers to success
• strong leadership skills, business acumen and sound judgment. This combination means the PRM is a respected and visible program leader/authority for team members, clients, peers and management.
• Excellent knowledge and ability to use MS Office applications; advanced skills using MS Project
• Knowledge of Web-based technologies (such as: HTML/DHTML, HTTP protocols and Web Services) an asset
• Post-secondary education required
• 6 - 8 years of Internet (or related industry) Project Management
• Experience in Interactive marketing communications, direct marketing, database marketing and integrated/multi-channel marketing
• Successful track record of delivering $1M+ projects on time and on budget
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with combined teams of 5 – 15 people
• Experience within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare markets an asset
• PMP Certification or equivalent an asset
